U3A Granite Belt Inc has a diverse membership. Our activities include discussion groups, seminars, workshops, social events and field trips. The informal teaching style for each of the activities is up to the individual volunteer tutor or group convener. Visitors and guests are welcome to attend any three activities free of charge. We encourage potential members to ‘try before you buy!’ Information about classes and activities is published in our monthly newsletter. General monthly meetings are conducted on the third Thursday morning of each month. Guest speakers are periodically invited to speak on their topic of expertise. U3A Network Queensland was established in 2009. It is a state wide voice for the U3A movement in Queensland. There are 36 U3A groups in Queensland with an estimated 25,000 members. The U3A Network Qld holds an annual conference every May. The annual U3A conferences provide a state-wide forum for embers of the numerous U3A organisations to connect, share ideas, and strengthen the overall movement. Clubs, throughout the state, have the opportunity to host the two-day mid-week event.
